In Alaska, inspiration is everywhere.

Emerging artist Sarah Cathcart lives in Anchorage, Alaska surrounded by inspiration from the natural world. With an artistic background steeped in an attitude of “let’s try it and see what happens”, she combines digital designs with the tactile craftsmanship of block carving. Thanks to the use of hand-mixed paint that is pigmented with genuine crystals, Sarah’s prints will elevate the vibes of any room. Through her vibrant prints and digital illustrations, she weaves motifs of flora, fauna, and ancient symbols.

As Sarah continues to evolve her practice, she invites viewers to join her on a journey of discovery, celebrating the magic that lies in both the people around her and the wild she chooses to play in. Sarah can be found “arting en plein air” in places like the botanical gardens, aquariums, zoos, and any other sites where animals can be easily observed for drawing. When she’s not creating new art, Sarah can be seen out on a trail with her 2 dogs, or on the Kenai river in her raft, or at the top of Alyeska mountain on her snowboard.
